Since its first staging in 2006, the Superbods competition has become one of the most anticipated events in the country.
Hundreds of hopefuls line up to audition to get a chance to be the next image models of Century Tuna. This year, the team behind Century Tuna Superbods took the competition to a whole new level by doing a nationwide search! Go-sees were scheduled in Davao, Cebu, Pampanga, and GMA.
Aspirants were also asked to upload their audition video via www.centurytuna.ph/superbods before they were asked to proceed to the go-sees in their area. Those who stood out were invited to the Final Casting held at 7th High in The Fort wherein 10 males and 10 females were chosen as finalists last March 7. The chosen ones were immediately immersed in different activities which included radio and TV guestings as well as public speaking and runway workshops.
After being formally introduced to the press during a send-off party at Opus Restaurant and Lounge on March 28, the finalists flew to Boracay for the sexiest and healthiest event of the year! To kick-off the Boracay activities, the Superbods lead a beach clean-up event as a way of preserving the cleanliness of the island after which they competed in a grueling mind and physical race challenge.
The entire campaign culminated with the Finals Night, held at the beachfront of Astoria de Boracay last April 14 graced by Century Tuna representatives, TV personalities, and celebrities headlined by Aljur Abrenica, Derek Ramsay and the newest celebrity endorser – Anne Curtis. The night sizzled as the finalists sashayed on the runway in body wear and resort wear.
One of the highlights of the night was the question and answer portion as finalists showed their wit and ability to think on their feet with the tough questions from an esteemed panel of judges. Before the night ended, JC Rezabek and Janelle Olafson were named as 2nd runners-up while June Macasaet and Azel Shane Smith were proclaimed as 1st runners-up.
John Spainhour and Monika Sta. Maria were declared as grand winners who will soon be seen in upcoming Century Tuna campaigns, promoting the healthy lifestyle which Century Tuna aims to instill in every Filipino.
