Anne invades Cebu!
The Annebisyosa No Other Concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum was a dream come true for Anne Curtis. A concert world tour was beyond her imagination. But apparently, everything is now a reality. Anne just finished the first stop of her concert series last March 23 at the Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City.
As expected, the venue was jam-packed with thousands of Annebisyosa supporters. It was a night of singing, dancing and having fun. To top it off, Luis Manzano, Mark Bautista and Jon Santos were the special guests who made the concert more entertaining.
Her first production number, which was composed of popular Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez songs, was fantastic and breathtaking. Unable to reach the high notes of the songs, Anne sought help from the audience saying, “Pagod na ko, tulungan niyo na ko.”
Aside from being the most ambitious concert in Philippine history, the Annebisyosa No Other Concert was also a fashion show. To make up her non-singer voice, Anne prepared fabulous costume changes. “As you all know, hindi lang ito concert, fashion show rin ito.”
What struck the Cebuanos was a heart-felt segment in the concert, wherein Anne invited one of her fans onstage. The Annebisyosa was touched with a book full of letters given by her fan, Bernadette.
Loving the hospitality and appreciativeness of the Cebuanos, Anne sang Beyonce’s Halo for the first time. “Hindi ko ‘to kinanta sa Araneta. This is especially for you guys and for someone that I met earlier. Nagbigay siya sa’kin ng libro, parang notebook na gawa lang niya at sobrang na-touch ako sa mga sinulat niya.”
Another special person in Anne’s life came out onstage saying, “She is one constant woman in my life.” Luis Manzano, one of Anne’s longtime best friends, had nothing but good words for the Annebisyosa. Together, they sang the popular Freestyle song, Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.
Both admitted that they don’t have the voices of OPM singers like Sarah Geronimo or Christian Bautista. But still, they belted out a powerful yet romantic rendition of Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang. Anne even said to Luis, “Kailangan makuha natin yung tamang key for them.”
If the Princess of All Media was known for her duet with singing champion Sarah Geronimo, this time it was Mark Bautista who shared the stage with her. Feeling a little bit nervous, Anne had difficulty delivering some of the lines of Aerosmith’s I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.
Among the people who worked hard for her concert, Anne expressed a special message for her musical director Marvin Querido. The genius behind her fabulous song line-up, the Annebisyosa uttered, “Thank you so much to my musical director. Siya ang bumuo ng lahat, binibigyan ako ng tips.”
After her two-hour concert, Anne still couldn’t believe that her first ever Annebisyosa No Other Concert nationwide tour just happened. “Ang sarap naman ng feeling. Parang Concert na Concert Sweetheart ako.”
Before leaving the stage, she once again told the audience, “I love you all Cebuanos. Thank you for joining me tonight. Thank you hindi kayo umalis. Nag-stay kayo hanggang dulo kahit ang sakit na sa tenga.”
Indeed, dreams do come true! Karaoke singer Anne Curtis is proof to it. Confidence is all it takes. Cagayan De Oro is the next stop of the Annebisyosa No Other Concert. See you on May 5 at the Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan De Oro City!
